These Terms and Conditions govern your use of ResumeFlare. The headings below are for convenience only.
Agreement to these terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ResumeFlare website, applications, browser extension, and related services ("Service") offered by ResumeFlare ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. This document is not legal advice; consider speaking with a lawyer if you have questions about your situation.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher, to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have authority to enter into these Terms.
Your account and security
You may register with email and password or other sign-in options we make available. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials, for all activity under your account, and for providing accurate account information. Notify us promptly at hello@resumeflare.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
Description of the service
ResumeFlare helps you prepare job applications. Depending on the features we offer, the Service may include building or importing a professional profile; storing resume and profile content; capturing job posting information (including via our browser extension on sites you visit); generating tailored resumes and cover letters with optional PDF downloads; keeping an application history or library; and related tools we add, change, or remove over time. We do not guarantee that any employer or system will accept or favor your materials.
User content and license to ResumeFlare
You retain any rights you hold in content you submit to the Service, including resumes, profiles, job descriptions, uploads, and documents we generate at your direction ("Your Content"). To operate the Service, you grant ResumeFlare a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, and create derivative works of Your Content only as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, support, and improve the Service (including quality and abuse prevention), and to comply with law. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems, subject to reasonable retention for backups, billing, security, and legal compliance.
Artificial intelligence outputs
Parts of the Service use artificial intelligence. Generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, similar to content produced for other users, or unsuitable without your review. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying facts in any output before you rely on it or submit it to third parties. You are responsible for compliance with applicable laws, employer policies, licensing, confidentiality, and the accuracy of what you submit in applications.
Employment outcomes
ResumeFlare does not recruit on your behalf and does not guarantee interviews, job offers, employer responses, ranking in applicant tracking systems, or any hiring outcome. Any examples or descriptions of results are illustrative only and not a promise of similar results for you.
Subscriptions, billing, and refunds
We may offer free and paid plans. Plan features and pricing are described when you sign up or in your billing settings; the price shown at checkout or in billing applies to your purchase.
Payments are handled by our payment provider. By subscribing, you authorize us and our provider to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. You may cancel through the billing portal we provide; cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law or where we expressly agree in writing, fees are non-refundable and we do not guarantee credits for partial periods.
Fair use
Where we describe paid use as "unlimited," that means reasonable, human-scale use for your personal job search—not automated bulk use, resale, or shared team use on a single account. We may apply reasonable limits or safeguards to keep the Service reliable for everyone and may adjust them over time.
Without limiting other remedies, the following are prohibited:
- Using bots, scripts, or automation to create artificial load or evade limits
- Scraping, crawling, or harvesting the Service or third-party sites in violation of law or applicable terms
- Reselling access, sharing one paid account across a team, or account cycling to avoid limits
- Generating materials at scale unrelated to genuine personal applications you intend to submit
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of third-party rights
- Upload or generate content that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, deceptive, or malicious
- Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without authorization, or bypass security or access controls
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code or models except where permitted by law
- Send spam, distribute malware, or abuse AI features (including attempts to manipulate or misuse the system)
Third-party services and links
The Service relies on third parties to help us run the product, including providers for hosting, payments, artificial intelligence, email, and analytics. We may also link to or interact with job boards and employer sites you visit through the extension or product. Their sites and terms apply to your use of their services. We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or availability.
Changes to the terms or service
We may modify these Terms or the Service from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example by email or an in-product notice). Continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires otherwise. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if we must do so to comply with law, or to protect the security or integrity of the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account closure as described in our Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will survive termination.
Service availability and beta features
We aim to operate the Service reliably but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features labeled beta or experimental may be incomplete or withdrawn. Scheduled or emergency maintenance may cause downtime.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT AND OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR ROLE OR EMPLOYER.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RESUMEFLARE AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, DATA, OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE FEES YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ResumeFlare and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to applicable law requiring otherwise, you and ResumeFlare consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in California for disputes arising out of these Terms or the Service.
